2011-2012 Class Supply Lists

Kindergarten Supply List

    • Back Pack - not with wheels. Avoid bags with lots of pockets or with complicated fastenings
    • Crayons (plain, no more than 24)
    • Scissors
    • 3 Pencils
    • Large zip pencil case
    • Glue Stick
    • A plastic zip pouch (approx. 9 1/2 x 13)
    • Large old T-Shirt for painting
    • Drawstring bag for P.E. clothes (These come to school on Mondays and go home to be washed on Fridays.)
    • 1 box of quart sized Ziploc bags
    • Lunch box and a cloth napkin
       

Apart from after-school clothes, if applicable, do not send anything to school with your child that is not on this list. Make sure that everything is marked clearly with your child's name. Bags should be marked on the outside. Please send all supplies on the first day of school.

Please note that school shoes should be dark brown or black, of polished or buck leather. No athletic, slip-on, ballet or suede shoes are permitted.


Grade 1 Supply List          

    • Scissors
    • Glue stick (white, solid)
    • Eraser
    • 2 Sharpened pencils
    • 2 Standard size zippered pencil cases
    • Crayons
    • 1-Two pocket folder
    • 1 Large box of tissues
    • 1Fun activity book for rainy day indoor lunch periods
    • Gym clothes in a drawstring bag
    • A recent photo of your child (no larger than 6x4) for our display board
    • A container of Clorox wipes (to clean desks weekly)
    • 1 Package of 9x12 construction paper

Optional item: A flip top or pull top water bottle which contains only water. Your child will be able to keep this on his/her desk and take quick sips. This is in addition to the beverage that you pack in your child’s lunchbox.

As there is no room in the individual classroom cubby that your child will have, large schoolbags on wheels are not permitted.

Please label all each item and do your best to keep supplies updated throughout the year.


Grade 2 Supply List

    • 3 sharpened pencils everyday (at all times)
    • 2 zipper pencil cases (standard size)  **please do not send plastic boxes as they will not fit in their desks with all of the textbooks and notebooks.
    • Crayons (NOT colored pencils please!)
    • Felt tip markers
    • Glue stick (white, solid, not liquid)
    • Scissors
    • Eraser
    • Highlighter
    • Red pen
    • Closed in sharpener
    • 2 – plastic durable folder (one to be used as their homework folder)
    • Easy to read 12 inch ruler
    • Gym clothes in a draw string bag
    • Box of Kleenex tissues
    • Family photo for religion books due by the second week of school
    • 1 fun activity book for rainy day indoor lunch activities
    • 1 container of Clorox wipes – to clean desks every other week

****Please ensure that all items are clearly labeled with your name on the first day of school.

Have a wonderful summer! Relax, have fun, stay safe and remember to read, read, read!!!  Bring any summer reading lists when you return to school.   You can continue to use any unused space in your bank book.  Please practice your addition and subtraction facts to 20 and from 20 over the summer.


Grade 3 Supply List

    • 2 two pocket folders ( one for homework/ finished papers and one for work in progress)
    • 6 pencils
    • 2 erasers
    • 1 small enclosed pencil sharpener
    • 2 blue, red, or black pens
    • 1 highlighter
    • 1 ruler with metric and slandered units
    • 1 glue stick
    • Scissors
    • Assorted colored markers, pencil crayons or crayons
    • 1 large zippered pencil case
    • 1 pack of Post it notes
    • 1 large box of tissues
    • 1 package of Clorox Wipes
    • A storage device/flash drive- The students must have one in order to be able to store, save and transfer work from the Media Center.

Grade 4 Supply List
    • 1 package of colored pencils or markers (8 count)
    • 1 package of wide-ruled lined paper (for assignments)
    • Pocket Dictionary
    • 1 pad of Post-It or other brand self-adhesive notes
    • 1 package assorted color construction paper (for assignments)
    • 2 glue sticks
    • 1 package of crayons (16 or 24 count)
    • 1 ruler (inches & centimeters)
    • 2 sharpened pencils (daily)
    • 1 Red Pen
    • 1 pencil sharpener
    • Student scissors
    • 1 medium sized zippered pencil case (must fit inside desk)
    • 1 box of tissues 
    • 3 two pocket folders
    • Storage USB Flash Drive 1GB– (Small memory size) to be used for saving and transferring work during lessons
    • 1 Regular size hard cover composition notebook
    • 1 small WHITE dry erase board with two dry erase markers (no larger than 8 X 11) (The black boards are hard to read with the neon markers)

Kindly Note: All supplies should be labeled with a permanent black marker and available for use on the first day of school. 

 


Grade 5 Supply List

    • 1 - three ring binder ( 2 inch zipper is preferable)
    • 4 - 2 pocket folders
    • 1 – package of lined loose leaf paper
    • 6 – pencils
    • 1 - small pencil sharpener ( enclosed)
    • 2- blue or black ball point pens
    • 1 – ruler
    • 1 – simple calculator
    • 1 – glue stick
    • 1 - scissors
    • 1 set – colored markers
    • 1 set – crayons or pencil crayons
    • 1 – large zippered pencil case
    • 1 – large box of Kleenex

Notebooks and academic planners will be given out in September. All students must have a set of MSA PE clothes and an MSA hat to be worn at recess and lunch. No other hats will be allowed.

Please continue to read, read, read over the summer. At least 2-3 novels should be read during this time. Also, keep a journal of the activities/travel you do during the summer. Make sure you know all of your timestables  very well for next year. Play math games  ,card games, dice ,tell time and count money to keep your mathematical thinking sharp!

 


Grade 6, 7 & 8 Supply List

    • Catholic Youth Bible (or $40 if your child does not have one already)
    • Covers for textbooks (there are some stretchy covers available at school for $1)
    • Folders for each subject (8)
    • Loose-leaf paper
    • Pens: black and/or blue, red
    • Supply of pencils and erasers
    • Colored pencils or markers
    • Small pencil sharpener
    • Highlighter(s)
    • 12 inch ruler
    • A good dictionary, one with pronunciation key, part of speech for each word, and synonyms. It should be one which the student can take into high school
    • Box of tissues so that they are available to students all year
    • Pair of scissors
    • A protractor
    • A pencil case
    • Glue
    • Composition notebook for Science (Marble notebook)
    • Basic calculator
    • A binder with 3 dividers for foreign language
    • A Flash Drive (Anything 1GB or more should be sufficient)
    • A journal for Religion (may be lined or blank pages – your choice)
    • A portfolio for Religion for keeping loose papers (may be a pocket folder, or zippered pouch. Students have been shown examples of possibilities)
    • Please check/refresh your supply often

Please make sure that all items are clearly labeled. Students will need these items for the whole school year, so you may need to replace lost/used up items.


High School Supply List – Specific Courses

    • students MUST have a graphing calculator: Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition
